COMPELLING AFFIRMATION!

Owner /winemaker Stephanie Toole has pursued the purest form of grapegrowing and winemaking to achieve exciting, flavoursome and delicious wines.

The results in 2024 are truly amazing.

Stephanie has rejected all chemical input in favour of a reliance on natural complexity and diversity in her vineyards. She can be seen above at the hand-harvesting of her 2024 riesling where the condition of the grapes was already telling a story.

‘The fruit quality was sensational!’ says Stephanie. ‘It is the culmination of three key inputs: a cool and mild season leading up to the harvest; strict organic procedures combined with biodynamics being embraced without reservation – all expressed through the production of pristine, fresh and generously flavoured fruit.’

There was no sorting necessary. Stephanie’s vintage role was to oversee the gentle crushing, juice extraction and fermentation of every bunch from her vineyards.

‘This vintage, all the grapes were in the best condition I have experienced. It’s no surprise that the wines taste so good!’

2024 MOUNT HORROCKS WATERVALE RIESLING

This is 100% pure expression of single site Riesling from an idyllic vintage. Aromatics more lemon than lime with delightful floral spice.

Expressive, concentrated citrus and pear fruits, ginger and honeysuckle with a touch of talc. Delicate yet flavoursome, crunchy, energetic and long on the palate, with crisp acidity providing zest and immense appeal. Big future ahead – easily 15+ years.

2024 MOUNT HORROCKS CORDON CUT RIESLING

Stephanie’s labour of love, this is the ultimate in reliance on weather to concentrate riesling grapes on the vine.

An excellent season with some hot weather to close was perfect for Cordon Cut. This is a thoroughly engaging wine from start to finish.

Fresh, vibrant, luscious lemon and lime juice, with ginger and spice notes. Bright, long acidity keeps it lively, not unctuous and leaves one craving another sip. Quite irresistible. Now to 2035 or more.

2024 MOUNT HORROCKS ROSE

Like the vibrant, dry rosés of Provence, this is eminently drinkable and very satisfying.

Delicate, pretty, pale pink in the glass. Aromas of strawberries and red currants, a little musk and citrus notes. It’s bright, crisp, refreshing and delicious. Lingers long with its balanced acidity and delightful fruit character. Best enjoyed while young.
